Topsy's Jocolo

Topsy's Jocolo

30" x 40"

A challenge quilt designed to showcase a random selection of African Fabrics supplied by June Morris, a fellow member of Malvern Quilters.

A Jocolo is a type of 'fingered' apron worn by the married women of the Ndebele. The stylised patterns and basic form provided the starting point for my quilt. As I simply chose the fabrics and colours as I went along my quilt 'just grew like Topsy' hence the name Topsy's Jocolo!
